Using Our Shop and Your Account

We thought we’d give you some information to help you to use our shop easily.  We will cover the following points:

1. Using the shop with or without an account
2. VAT
3. Checking out of the shop
4. Accessing electronic purchases
5. Postage/delivery charges.

1.    ‘My Account’.

In order to access our shop, we ask you to set up an account.  There are two advantages for you of setting up an account.

• if you want to make further purchases, the system remembers your details and so subsequent purchases are much quicker and easier.
• if you wish to re-download a purchase for whatever reason after you have initially downloaded it, if you have an account you can simply log into your account to do it.

PLEASE NOTE that we take your privacy very seriously. We will never pass on your information for commercial reasons (see our Privacy Notice), and if you do not wish to receive our newsletters you can make that clear while setting up the account.

2.    VAT

VAT (Value Added Tax) is chargeable at 20% on all our products except physical books.

VAT is not charged if you live outside the EEC.

3.    Checking Out of The Shop

The merchant systems that we use is Paypal.  The process to make a purchase or purchases is as follows:

• Add the item(s) you wish to buy to your basket (Cart).  Your basket at the top of the page will show how many items are in it.
• When you are ready to check out, click on ‘My Basket’ at the top of the page.
• If you have an account with us, please enter your Log In information.  If you do not have an account you can either set one up or make a purchase without creating an account.
• Amend the basket if necessary, and on the ‘Checkout’ page, complete any billing or shipping information as requested.
• The VAT (Tax) and any discounts will be shown at the bottom of this page.
• Assuming the order is correct, click on the ‘Purchase’ button and choose a payment method.
• Please note that ‘Shipping’ is included in the product price (see note below).
• ‘Shipping’ (ie postage/delivery) applicable to your order is shown near the foot of the ‘Checkout’ page, and is calculated after you have inserted the billing and delivery information.  (See Shipping and Returns for a summary of shipping rates)

4.   Accessing Electronic Purchases

As soon as any purchase of an electronic product is completed, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the download.

5.   Postage/Delivery Charges

Where it is a physical product, we will add postage/delivery charges (see Shipping and Returns) at the checkout stage.  If a physical product is subject to VAT (e.g. CDs and manuals), any delivery charges for those products will have VAT added.  If a physical product is not liable to VAT (e.g. books), there is no VAT on delivery charges for that product.
